Our Founder

Dr.K.S. Sanjivi, a doctor & social worker was the driving force behind the establishment of the VHS- M.A. Chidambaram College of Nursing, envisioned as a center for nurturing skilled nursing professionals. His commitment to healthcare was evident through the non-profit healthcare organization Voluntary Health Services, he developed in 1961. Following that, under the aegis of the M.A. Chidambaram (MAC) Educational Foundation, he established the nursing college in 1991 to serve as a key talent incubator for the hospital. His legacy in healthcare continues to shape the institution, fostering a new generation of healthcare providers dedicated to community service.

Foundation with Since 1991, under the aegis of the MAC Educational Foundation, VHS – M.A. Chidambaram College & School of Nursing has been at the forefront of nursing education, offering a comprehensive range of programs including Ph.D in Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, and Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM). Our affiliation with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and recognition by the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and the Indian Nursing Council underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic and professional excellence.
