In a perfect blend of empowerment and enthusiasm, VHS MACCON Nursing College hosted a spectacular celebration of Women’s Day and Sports Day — an event that not only honoured the achievements of women but also celebrated the vitality of sports and culture among its students. One of the highlights was the creative makeup and costume competition, where students portrayed iconic women who have left an indelible mark across fields. From the indomitable Kalpana Chawla to the trailblazing Nirmala Sitharaman, the charismatic Jayalalithaa, global leader Indra Nooyi, and the inspiring Arunima Sinha — each portrayal was a powerful reminder of women’s limitless potential.

The fancy dress competition was a visual feast, as students embraced India’s diverse cultures with handmade sets, traditional costumes, and expressive dance performances. The celebrations culminated with the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony, where victors of various athletic competitions — including running, high jump, volleyball, throw ball, badminton, and chess — were recognised for their achievements. The highlight of the ceremony was the crowning moment for the Oxford team, who proudly lifted the coveted year-end rolling trophy.
